  • My circumstances:
  • I managed to accrue just over £20,000 of debts, Credit cards, payday loans etc. Soon realised that I needed to do something and came across Freeman Jones.
  • My interaction with the company:
  • After looking at various IVA companies on the internet I very foolishly believed that using a company that charged for its services was the right way to go. I believed that you got what you paid for believing that a company that didnt charge a fee wouldnt be very good.. how very wrong was I. I completed their questions online and within minutes someone phoned me from FJ, the process went very smoothly and I was soon accepted for an IVA.
  • Why I gave the ratings I did:
  • Im just over 2 years into my IVA. The first year went ok, then the second year I started getting lots of phone calls from them, I would send in my payslips etc when requested which they would then say that they havent received (I now email them a copy of my payslip and get a receipt for the email). Due to health reasons I recently changed jobs, less hours so obviously less money, Ive agreed to maintain the original payments every month which theyre now saying is unaffordable, its me thats going to struggle to maintain these payments not them so I cant see what the problem is. Every time I try to call them I can never speak to MY relationship manager and when my RM calls me she always calls when Im at work and cant take calls, I tell them everytime I speak to them what is the best time to call and they just dont listen to you. I get told one thing one day that then gets totally contradicted the next day by a different adviser or by letter. I just dont know which way to turn anymore, I try speaking to them but they seem to take absolutely no notice of anything you say to them. And now Im reading that people are being given big bills from them at the end of their 5 years. To be honest, bankruptcy is seriously beginning to look like the only way out of this.

  • Customer services could be greatly improved. Staff that actually listen to what your saying would be good too.

  • Comments: I have problems with ppi claims paid into my iva freeman jon es does not inform you as to the way the ppi payment is used towards your iva you can not speak to yor personal manager they don't answer letters or phone calls

  • Comments: I must agree with some of the comments I spoke to FJ this morning only to be told that my relashionship manager has left,& that everything goes to the insolvency dept. my call was relateing to PPI claims the creditor required FJ to sign some forms which i am told that the IP was not signing anything so as this would go back to the creditors WHY NOT. the first years FJ were good it seems as we near the end (only 13 moths to go) the service seems

  • Comments: Please accept my apologies for the service you have received. I would like to look into the problems you are experiencing if you can email your reference to Sarah.Jolly@freemanjones.co.uk. Fee’s for all IVA’s including ours are agreed by your creditors upon acceptance. We do not “bill” clients at the end of their IVA however creditors do expect any arrears are repaid providing it’s affordable to do so.

Good Points

Very informative with lots of useful information. A lot of reviews on firms that really help understand their customer service and ability. The reviews appear to be genuine as they offer interesting insights. Didn't really use the the map but looks impressive!

Bad Points

The site is a bit cluttered and sometimes hard to navigate around.

General Comments

A useful site that is free to use and full of useful information about IVAs. If you are thinking of doing an IVA then this is a must use site.
